In the front foreground, the young Brunnhilde is lying face up on a cloth covered surface.  Her long blond hair falls to her right side across the cloth.  Her breasts are bared.  She wears a dress with a thin green sheer gown over it. She wears sandals on her feet.

Standing behind the bier near Brunnhilde's knees is Seigfried who looks down on her.  Behind Siegfried are rolling mountains where the sun is coming up just behind Siegfried's head, making it seem like the light is radiating from his head.

The young Seigfried has curly light colored hair.  He wears an animal skin tunic off one shoulder. over his left shoulder and dangling by his right side is a bull's horn.  Seigfried holds a sword pointed downward in his left hand.
