Tyr and Fenrir, illustrated by John Bauer in 1911 for Our Fathers' Godsaga by Viktor Rydberg. Source: Wikipedia This black and white image shows Fenrir facing Tyr. Fenrir dominates the lower half of the image. His body is long and emaciated. His legs are tied, gravel at his feet. His mouth is slavering, drool dripping down from his jaws, which are closed on Tyr's right arm. Tyr, smaller, stands straight, facing Fenrir with equanimity, his left arm relaxed at his side. He is wearing a tunic with an ornate belt and a sword and buckler at his side. His feet are shod with laced sandals. He wears a cloak over his shoulder, fastened at the neck. Tyr's hair is long and on top of his head is a winged crown. Behind them is a snow-covered landscape. Just below Fenrir's jawline, an arched door can be seen in the snowbank. The upper half of the image shows a sky empty except for a few crows.
